News at Eleven: The poem tells of a woman

who looks out the window of an old house to see blue jays in a rage, fighting their own war:

She thinks of a winter camp
Where soldiers for France are made.
She draws down the window shade
And it glows with an early lamp.

Now, the rediscovered work will be published in the fall issue of the Virginia Quarterly Review, which will be available Monday.
