Poetic Obituaries: Luke [Carter-Schelp]'s version
of the poem described a small leprechaun figurine that he had. His mother [Val Carter] changed the words to describe her son.

life is really hard without you. i wish you`d visit my dreams so that i can talk to you and catch up a bit..i really hate missing all the times we used to have together and it kills me more every day that you`re not here with us. its actually only 10 more days until it will be a year for your "anniversary" im sure if you were here things would be a lot different but still really really fun. i really, like, cannot wait until i see you again but i wish you would come here. sometimes i even still think that you`re just in africa or something and i want to call you when you get home because you always used to make me feel better about my problems and i do have problems that i need to tell you about. sometimes i look at other best guy/girl friends and it makes me in such a sad mood that you`re not here in person to still be my best friend. i know that you will be forever in spirit but i wish you were here physically, too. i hope a lot that you`re having fun up in heaven or wherever you are and when its all of our times to go we`ll get to see you and all be friends again. rest in peace, luke. i miss you so much my heart is breaking.

you were always nice to everyone, and i bet your having a great time in heavn. It is almost a year and i dont know how much we can take. you cant come back, and it feels weird w/o you. i know ud want us to live life to the fullest, but its much harder than it seems. whyd u have to go? whyd u have to leave us, and the worst part is...
it was a huge shock for all of us. how were we supposed to know that we'd never see u again. never talk to u, or see u smile? we all miss u, but how do we move on. how does anyone move on from the fact that well never see u again till we die. itll be a year, and people say, "wow, we made it! we actually made it!" but were we not going to make it? i dont understand. ur so far away,and were still confused and hurt, and we want u back, but thats impossible. and moving on is much harder than it seems. but we never really move on do we? well never forget u, or not think about u. we just wish that we could see u again. and it feels as though this is just a horrible nightmare. We miss u luke, never forget that.

He lived like a King in all that he did.
He has a family so strong and so loving, one that will always remember him.
But no matter how often everyone might say: his smile.
It's true, it was as big as his heart and it warmed up the world. It drew eveyone in and that's what he did, he made everyone laugh, joke, and have a good time.
Luke was someone who we all wish was around, whether you knew him or not.
His death was a tragic event, that brought everyone together, and now he knows, all those, that care for him.
All those, that are his family.
We all love you!

Luke. I only met you a few times, but I have many friends who knew you very well and they all miss you and love you very much. You were so lucky to have so many people who cared about you and love you. You're still alive in their hearts.

ReplyDeleteIt is slowly approaching your 6 year of being gone. I cannot believe it has been that long. It feels like just yesterday that you were walking down the halls with me. I honestly have never missed someone as much as I have missed you. Just thinking back to that day, I wished there was something I could have done to prevent this tragic event from happening. You were the best friend, son, brother and to me best boyfriend anyone could ever have. There were so many things I had shared with you that I couldnt share with anyone else. I have never opened up so much to a guy like I had done with you. There is so much I regret about our relationship and there is much I wish I could make up for. I dont know what to do without you now. Just know that you will never be forgotten. I love you so much and you will always be my first love no matter how young we were.
