of Michigan to Detroit in the 1970s which later, under award-winning poet's eye M.L. Liebler, evolved into the Writer's Voice before becoming the Springfed Arts-Metro Detroit Writers organization it's known by today.
"For those who didn't know her, Henrietta was our special literary treasure," Wayne State University professor and 2010 Barnes & Noble Writers for Writers Award winner Liebler says in a statement. "For those who did know her and love her, it is hard now to imagine a Detroit without our literary lion who fought so hard for funding and programs for all of us.
