visited Mara, Africa, in 2000 and persuaded the Coley church to adopt a village. Reflecting on her life, she wrote: "I've walked and climbed and bird-watched.
"I worked in the woods and learned about trees and the animals and birds. I've enjoyed poetry, my friends, and all those people who have passed through my life." Her daughter-in-law, Janet Beddoe, said: "She was a hard-working lady who never gave up on anything."
