accomplishments of [Wendy] Salinger's narrative is that it ventriloquizes so successfully, speaking not only in the voice of the misogynistic and limitlessly narcissistic father ("Shut up. You don't care about the pain in my gut or the pain in my head or the pain in my neck, which is what you are. So just shut up. I'm warning you"), but also in the voices of the silenced females. . . .
