Dear Poetry Fans,
Poetry & Poets in Rags
The fifth anniversary of 9/11 is Monday, and our headliner features a public poem that may turn out to be more political than the poet Simon Armitage has intended for the occasion. Frank Wilson's blog post at Books Inq.--I noticed this over the weekend ...--is attracting more negative than positive comment on this artsy-crafty poem. Join in.
We remain political for quite a few articles in News at Eleven. This includes the politics of poetry, and poetry's relation to world politics. Although, there's love poetry too.
In Great Regulars, we have three new additions. Both Charles Bainbridge of The Guardian, and Brad Leithauser, who writes for the New York Times, are long overdue for inclusion. They've been truly great regulars for years now. Also, Good Times Weekly has a fabulous "Poetry Corner" that I will be on the lookout for now.
Thanks for coming.
Yours,
Rus
