detective work, such as performed above with "Filigrane," [John] Ashbery's poetry is truly interactive, even more so than reading always is. The downside is that reading words linked purposely to undermine their own meanings, to not make conventional sense, can be monotonous and exhausting, even if one is fascinated and impressed with the process.
