Great Regulars: Derek Mahon's versions

of the Swiss-born French-language poet Philippe Jaccottet, later collected in the volume Words in the Air (Gallery Press, 1989), were one example of a perfect match. The title poem of the collection was published in the TLS of June 19, 1987.
