Great Regulars: [Emma Howell] returns again

and again to certain images, building for the reader an emotional vocabulary. Colors, particularly green. The heft of gourds, squash, pumpkins. And the elements, particularly water.

And it's there, in the private obsessions, that Howell's lines can't be divided from her life.
