Poetic Obituaries: [Mary] Techmeier, who had a degree

from a Belgian university, earned a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a doctorate from Laval University in Quebec, then went to work at St. Norbert in 1966.

After retiring and gaining professor emeritus status, she wrote a semiautobiographical novel, "The Memoirs of Catherine Herbaut," which was published in 1995. She also wrote poems and short stories in English and French.
