"Notes from Tryon Estates" were printed for eight years in the Tryon Daily Bulletin and a book of verse, In that Small Town of Long Ago, was published in 2003. He was a student of Cherokee Indian archaeology and wrote another book, in verse, of tales from Cherokee legends.
