Dear Poetry Aficionados,
IBPC: Poetry & Poets in Rags
We begin where the Guardian left off last week with their series of World War I poetry. The first link is a remarkable slideshow of pictures, sketches, and handwritten drafts of poems.
It's such a varied and interesting week, with so many aspects, that I'll leave the rest for your discovery. I'll bet you'll like it all, or at least several specific articles depending on your interests in poetry.
Also, check out the InterBoard Poetry Community's winning poems for October. We in the community say "Thank you" to Tony Barnstone for being such a terrific judge this summer, and "Hello" to two poets in love, Hélène Cardona and J.M. FitzGerald.
Congratulations go to poet Michael Creighton of The Waters Poetry Forum for his first place poem "Ache"; to Antonia Clark, also of The Waters, for her second-place "Convalescence"; and for third place, "Debris" by Ashura whose poem represented Pen Shells. Honorable mentions went to "awake" by James Lineberger of Salty Dreams; "Compression" by Linda E. Cable of SplashHall Poetry & Art; "Imagination of the Deflated Balloon" by Henry Shifrin at Wild Poetry Forum; "Musée de la Résistance - Vaucluse" by Adam Elgar at The Writers Block; and "Talk Like a Pirate Day" by Catherine Rogers at Poets.org.
Thanks for clicking in.
Yours,
Rus
