with N.A.S.A. at Kennedy Space Center in Florida as an aeronautical engineer and retired in 1988 as head of Space Shuttle Communications at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. In addition to his career, Rowdy was an award-winning and internationally recognized amateur poet.
