As for the writing, [Amy] Gerstler learned a lot "about putting text in an art gallery, which is completely different from putting it in a book. I thought that, as a poet, I had a good sense of compression, but things needed to be more boiled down." Smith helped by editing the texts and thinking about their graphic presentation--or, as she puts it, "Amy did the writing and I did the physicality."
