Great Regulars: Anyone Who Had A Heart is clear on the reasons

behind the end of Bacharach's partnership with Hal David, but being one of the four Mrs Burt Bacharachs seems to have been the toughest gig of all. Even with a superstar on his arm, music came first, and the book's opening line is: "I had only been married to Angie Dickinson for about nine months when I started thinking about getting a divorce."

Paul Anka recalls both Sinatra and Dean Martin describing Dickinson as their greatest-ever lover.
