Great Regulars: In my view the real heroes of mankind

are the toiling farmers of the world. We owe everything to them--food grains, edible oil seeds, industrial raw materials and what not. And yet the farmers are the most neglected sections of society in every country and more so in India.

Edwin Markham (1852-1940) a great American poet immortalized the trials, tribulations, tortures and toils of an average farmer in his famous poem 'The Man with a Hoe' which was presented at a public poetry reading in 1898.
