Great Regulars: 3rd green Chevy, mall parking lot

A good poem should have a pungent bouquet, with top notes of oak and ash, a fruity midrange and an alarming finish. A bad poem smells cheaply made, gives off the odor of the ordinary.

A good poet should smell like a stone in a strong wind. A bad poet smells like fried food mixed with too much cologne.

from Tom Chandler: The Providence Journal: Poetry Corner: Did you know that poems have smells?
