News at Eleven: [Arielle] Greenberg said poetry and the Obama

presidency were a natural match. Obama revived the tradition of an inauguration day poem.

And his choice of poet Elizabeth Alexander, who composed Obama's inaugural poem, "Praise Song for the Day," confirmed to Greenberg and Zucker that he was not only ushering a new era of hope but a new era of verse.

"It seemed like a really smart choice," Greenberg said about Alexander as the inaugural poet. "It seemed like the choice of someone who read poetry or had advisers who read poetry."
