Poetic Obituaries: [Charles Ryskamp] began teaching at Princeton

in 1955 as an instructor and in 1969 became a full professor. He was an expert on the English poet William Cowper. In addition to writing "William Cowper of the Inner Temple, Esq: A Study of His Life and Works to the Year 1768” (1959), he helped edit three volumes of his poetry and letters for the Clarendon Press at Oxford. With Frederick A. Pottle, he edited "Boswell: The Ominous Years, 1774-1776” (1963) for the Yale edition of Boswell's private papers.
