Great Regulars: [Sean O'Brien] is also one

of Britain's foremost reviewers of poetry, especially for the TLS and The Sunday Times. Four of the poems in The Drowned Book were first published in the TLS: one of them "The Thing" (January 28, 2005), which shows O'Brien's enjoyable talent for invective. As the poem suggests, the poet has recently been working in the theatre.
