News at Eleven: Yea slimy things

did crawl with legs
Upon the slimy sea,

and

My sister and my sister's child,
Myself and children three,
Will fill the chaise, so you must come
On horseback after we.

At secondary school, the anthologies served up plenty of Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats, Tennyson, Hopkins, Hardy and Frost - with Yeats and Eliot giving a foretaste of what might be encountered at university.
