Great Regulars: For me as an early poet, a young poet,

I tended to write very short, constructed, rhetorical, imagistic poems that relied an awful lot on suggestion. And I was essentially trapped in the deep image box. I could do a really good immitation of Robert Bly or James Wright. But for the life of me, I couldn't tell a good story.
