Poet Obituaries: Kay [Hughan] was a writer, She penned

a number of short stories, scores of poems, hundreds of letters and a book about her life on the Nass. One of the ‘old school,' she could recite poems by memory. You could tell how much she savored the rhythm, the story and the thought of this old poetry.

Like all writers, she possessed a vivid imagination.
