News at Eleven: "He writes in every poetry form

known to man," says local poet Spiel, one of [Jim] Hall's friends.

Proclaims Hall, in a voice deep, resonant and wise: "You should never be afraid of trying something new."

That may as well be Hall's daily mantra. He writes. He rewrites. He learns. He experiments. And he writes some more.

"I write at least one poem every day," says Hall. "In fact, I have a motto: A writer is someone who wrote something today."
