Poetic Obituaries: [Balachandra] Rajan wrote one of the most

highly regarded scholarly books on Milton, Paradise Lost and the Seventeenth Century Reader, as well as critiques on other poets, plus two novels, Too Long in the West and Farewell, My Friend.

He was a superb prose writer, a revered researcher, a beloved teacher and "a true poet" as a human being, said UWO English teacher John Leonard.
