St. Patrick's Day forum announcement

Dear Poetry Aficionados,

IBPC: Poetry & Poets in Rags

We begin in my hometown of Lowell, where last year Buddhist Monk Ly Van Aggadipo died. In the community, he was called Maha Ghosananda, and known as the Cambodian Ghandi. The news is out that, in Dickinsonian fashion, his poetry was found after his death. The other ten articles in News at Eleven are from all over the world, and quite varied in subject matter.

We have an addition to Great Regulars. As you know, recently the remarkable Mick Imlah died. He would bring us TLS's poem of the week. We now welcome Michael Caines, who introduces us to the Times Literary Supplement poem this week.

In the IBPC community, congratulations are due to three poets, and the online forums where they workshop. Elena Karina Byrne judged February's entries, and Ray Sweatman of Salty Dreams has taken first place with his poem "Mondegreen". In second place is the poem "Virginia Sings Back To the Stones In Her Pockets" by Laurie Byro of Desert Moon Review. And coming in third, a poem entitled "-" (yes, the dash symbol is the title), written by Eric R. Hohenstein of The Critical Poet (dot org). Read the poems here: Winning Poems; and Elena's commentary here: Latest Commentary.

Thanks for clicking in.

Yours,
Rus
