Great Regulars: The Simpsons is routinely and plausibly described

as the best television show ever made. Certainly, ever since the series started in 1989, its writers and producers have felt that they had a right to be demanding of the rich and famous who queued up to do the voices. When Elizabeth Taylor, for instance, came in to provide one of the show's big moments--the single word "Daddy" that is the first utterance of Homer's youngest child, Maggie--they made her do 24 takes because each time it sounded too sexy. Eventually she just said 'F*** you!' and left.
