at Stonehill College, [Diane] McMullen registered for the most difficult courses with the most demanding professors and relished the challenge of analyzing poetry and literature. Herself a writer and poet, McMullen edited the college literary magazine and so began an avocation of support for the creativity of others, an avocation which led to her vocation as an adult basic education practitioner, teacher, professional development specialist, and finally, Dean of Literacy Services at Bristol Community College.
