daughter, Carolyn, read a touching poem Ted had written for [his wife] Jeanne. And then, the solemn rituals at their end, his beach buddies-- Denny Baer, Jolyn Bowler, Bill Dugle, Desi DeSimone, Annie Niblock and Kirby Sullivan-- rose to the front and picked up guitars. This most appropriate memorial ended with an upbeat "Amazing Grace." No sand, no setting sun, no shorts, but the same sound Ted would hear on a warm Tuesday night.
