Great Regulars: Eight former U.S. poets laureate

will gather to mark the publication of "The Poets Laureate Anthology," the first collected works of the writers who are officially known as poet laureate consultants in poetry to the Library of Congress. The library is publishing the book in collaboration with W.W. Norton.

"There's no emotional connection between the reader and the computer screen," believes Lorin Stein, new editor of the Paris Review, the 57-year-old literary magazine, still a must-read for people who appreciate great writers and great writing.

"Print is a direct connection. It allows you to get lost in a story. There's nothing else to interrupt you, no Internet, no e-mail to be thinking about."
