News at Eleven: C.D. Wright's One With Others is a

tour de force. What else to call it? To say "book of poems" is not accurate. To say "book-length poem" seems a misnomer. A collection of bits and pieces, sometimes in prose, sometimes in lines that suggest verse but also, as formatted on the page, that seem to pull apart poetic form to make lines leap out or stand alone--the book reads like a scrapbook in words, using clippings from newspapers, from interviews, from memory, from intimate and personal photos to create a collage that also boasts, amazingly, a relentless forward movement.
