Farrar Straus & Giroux, her publisher for most of her career, is bringing out three new editions of her writing: a compilation of her letters to and from The New Yorker and a pair of companion volumes called "Poems" and "Prose" (as paperbacks or in a fancy hardcover set), which will do nothing short of introducing a new, previously unknown Bishop to longtime fans and new readers.
Taken together, these books make clear that Bishop was as much a prose writer as she was a poet.
