Poetic Obituaries: [Mary Annesley Evelhoch] then went on to become

a ceramic decorator for Robert Simmons Ceramics in Glendale and West Coast Pottery and Lee Wollard Ceramics in Burbank. In the evenings, Mary studied art and industrial arts and crafts at UCLA Extension. She was a member of the Poetry Club in Glendale, and her poem "To FDR" was accepted and read to accompanying organ music during a commemoration to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The same poem is read today at the Roosevelt National Park Service in Hyde Park, NY.

Mary later returned to New York State where she self-published craft and design instructions and opened a ceramic studio and arts and crafts shop.
