not to symbolize the feelings of one individual, but to stand for the shattered individuals of an entire generation, survivors trying to put their lives back together in a country crippled by a war.When contemporary psychological poets incorporate nature in their poems, they do so with irony or with deliberate distortion. Surrealistic images of nature reflect a state of mind that is considered unmistakably modern.
