Great Regulars: Carol Ann says: The American poet Sara Teasdale

(1884-1933) was very popular with the public, writing accessible poems which are still enjoyable today. This poem about love and time uses an autumn garden as its metaphor -a cliche perhaps -but has flashes of brilliance in the description of flowers, particularly in the startling image of the snowdrop.
