as a junior high English and AVID teacher. Starting in 1991, she taught at Atascadero Junior High School for 20 years. Teaching was her passion which she believed kept her young and excited about the promise of life. Her innovative and creative style infused the love of poetry, reading and Shakespeare in her students. For thousands of kids the highlight of their school day was walking through Ms. Pentoney's door where she welcomed each of them with a smile and handshake.
