intended to teach mathematical, physics and engineering principles to undergraduates majoring in nontechnical fields.That experience was the beginning of an exploration that led to him [Robert Osserman] to write Poetry of the Universe: A Mathematical Exploration of the Cosmos, which was published in 1992. The popular science book brought in themes from Dante and elsewhere to describe the geometry behind modern cosmology.
