May 2nd forum announcement

Dear Poetry Fans,

Poetry & Poets in Rags

Notables from our online world of poetry are still arriving to speak into Frank Wilson's first post: Books Inq.: Okay, folks .... Join the discussion if you haven't already.

We have three Great Regulars to add this week, giving us thirty total, any combination of which bring us their articles in any given week. The first is John Mark Eberhart from The Kansas City Star. He's been writing poetry articles that have been includable for longer than Poetry & Poets in Rags has been around. This week, he brings us an exceptional literary competition opportunity from "a major magazine". The second one comes to us from Zeek, which is doing a new series of poems translated into English by Asher Reich. You bet they'll be receiving an e-mail from me, thanking them for this. Thirdly, Newpaper Tree comes through with a poem again, making it a series I will be looking out for.

I leave our News at Eleven for your discovery. Wherever you click in from around the world, thank you.

Yours,
Rus

They're making it special at the Philadelphia Inquirer. Check out Frank Wilson's latest request for input:

Books Inq.: Deadline extension

Hi Rus,

I just went over there and posted a comment. I'm really curious to see what he does with the article. Thanks for keeping all of us up-to-date with the goings-on in the blogosphere. :-)

Hi Christine,

I went there and posted after your post, and because of what you said. Maybe I should have mentioned, that the Poets.org discussion forum, was not originally intended to be long-lasting, but for one April Poetry Month, as I recall, a place where people clicking in about the event, could discuss and share poetry. The success of it made the group at AAP at the time decide to continue it, after it's originally intended purpose.

This is an extraordinary bit of reporting Frank's doing. I know of no other instance, when so many from an online community have had input into a news item. It will be a news event, as well as an event for us online poets.

Thanks, Christine.

Yours,
Rus
