Great Regulars: In "Gethsemane", possibly one of

the finest Christian poems of our time, she [Mary Oliver] begins:

The grass never sleeps.
Or the roses.
Nor does the lily have a secret eye that shuts until morning.

She then enters the gospel narrative: "Jesus said, wait with me. But the disciples slept."
