Poetic Obituaries: The tragically untimely death of Niranjan Mohanty

has not only robbed Orissa and India of a poet with a distinctive lyrical voice but also of a simple and impassioned man. His poetry, at its best, was a filtration of his humanity, his home-bound vision, as this verse from "Prayers" reveals:
