for the Arts announced the death of reading in America, it now claims books are back in style and credits itself for the success.The NEA yesterday said data from its latest polling, "2008 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts," showed that "the overall rate at which adults read literature [novels and short stories, plays or poems] rose by seven percent" since it started the survey in 1982.
