Great Regulars: The speaker remarks that he decided

on the second path, "Because it was grassy and wanted wear." At first, it seemed to him that the second path had less foot traffic than the first one, and thus he became intrigued with the notion of walking down the path where fewer feet had trod.

But then upon further comparison and reflection, he discovers that the paths were "really about the same." Rather than, in fact, offering him a "less traveled choice," the paths were offering him two choices with very little, if any, difference.
