Dear Poetry Aficionados,
Poetry & Poets in Rags blog
It turns out to be a week of some very interesting profiles of poets from around the world, present and past. These include Eve Packer, Roque Dalton, John Steffler, Rabindranath Tagore, Carl Sandburg, and Ruth Sanders. Plus we link to articles on Carmen Gillespie, Yang Lian, and Celia de Fréine. These are sandwiched between our headliner, and our Back Page links. From our Back Page, we take a look at what Eliot must have meant by "shudder". We begin, however, with a death threat against Javed Akhtar.
In our Great Regulars section, be sure to check out what these columns and columnists have for us. They are alphabetized by last name when the Great Regular is a writer. The alphabetized writers are followed by the alphabetized news journals that bring us columns of and on poetry regularly. This way, you can always find your favorite poetry columnists and columns.
You will find some heartbreaking Poetic Obituaries this week also, beginning with Rane Arroyo's.
Thanks for clicking in.
Yours,
Rus
