Poetic Obituaries: For more than a decade, Mr. [Bennett Hallum] Eskesen [Jr.]

wrote a weekly column in the Stamford Advocate featuring commentary on life in his hometown and the world at large. He also edited and published "Scarecrow," a vehicle for his poems and paintings.

Each Christmas, he wrote a poem which he would print and mail to friends. Mr. Eskesen's last published piece was a nostalgic essay in the Harvard Crimson.
