the 1960 Winter Olympic Games in Squaw Valley. He was past president of the Yosemite Lions Club, past president and director/secretary of the California Hospital Personnel Management Association, and served as a member of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce State and National Government Advisory Council and Heal Committee.
Gene put his creative talents to use in his retirement years, compiling a book of poetry.
