Poetic Obituaries: For years, she [Kesi McTizic] wrote poems and rap

songs and at one point caught the attention of some popular local artists, she said. But when she changed her life, she also transformed the focus of her work. Known as "Lady Nuke," she began performing gospel-themed hip-hop songs and poems around the south suburbs.

"I didn't always rap for the Lord," she said. "God had another plan for my life. When I write my songs, it's really my testimony."

Ms. McTizic started leading the hip-hop themed worship services at Spirit of God Fellowship church in South Holland and became known throughout the south suburbs for her work.
