rejected by communist publishers in 1957, Fischerova made her book debut after the fall of communism in 1993. She returned home in 1994.Her poems, influenced by her experience with death--her second husband also died--have been published in anthologies abroad and in separate volumes in Poland and Spain. She received several literary awards at home and abroad.
