He co-created the satirical TV programs--"Kernalia", "Kitchen Waltz" or "A Quarter with a Dog". He was also a translator (he translated Isaac Bashevis Singer). Kern also wrote very popular books for children. The most famous were: "Ferdinand the Magnificent" and "Please, Mr. Elephant". He cooperated with children's magazines "Plomyk" ("Flame") and "Plomyczek" ("Little Flame").
