Her coffee shop became a de facto gallery for area artists, showcasing music from local bands and hosting weekly poetry nights.
Coaches, soccer moms, grass-roots political groups and members of a local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter all stopped at the Funky Java coffee shop on Villa Avenue.
