"The Boys Up North: Dick Erath and the Early Oregon Winemakers," (Wyatt Group, 1997) explored pioneer vintners' motivations for starting wineries in the Willamette Valley.
Pintarich also wrote more than a dozen unpublished novels. When he died, he was working on a nonfiction book about a World War II-era sailor-turned-spy and serving as contributing editor for Oregon Magazine, which published his poems.
